Drym House

Large holiday home between the Cornish coasts

Sleeps 8 across 4 bedrooms Friday arrival Up to two well behaved dogs welcome
The Retreat

Inbetween the coasts in the peaceful hamlet of Drym, near Hayle, sits Drym House, a distinguished, traditional granite-built home sleeping 8. Originally built in the 1850s, Drym House has been tastefully renovated to exceptional standards while keeping its traditional values.

Not planning on using the Hot Tub? Please let us know at least two weeks prior to your arrival, and we can arrange for this to be switched off and emptied. We will then refund you up to £160.

Inside

Enter the timeless Drym House through a pillared porch into a spacious hallway. The love and attention to this home is immediately evident from the moment you step in – to the left-hand side of the hallway you will find the formal living room which has been tastefully decorated with plenty of seating, a woodburner and beautiful Tom Raffield pendant lights.

Positioned to the right of the hallway you can find the desirable and newly renovated open-plan kitchen/diner with stone flooring and an eclectic mix of navy and marble counters. Furnished with high-spec appliances, you can expect a fully-equipped kitchen with extra benefits to amplify your stay, such as a wine cooler and coffee machine. This property is perfect for dinner parties as the space is complete with woodburner, a central island, and a dining table.

The kitchen is connected to a naturally lit sunroom with vaulted ceilings and bi-fold doors with immediate access to an external patio, the perfect place to relax throughout the seasons. The ground floor is complete with a cloakroom and shower room, perfect for showering down sandy paws and wellies at the end of a day exploring the coasts.

The mid-Victorian staircase at Drym House leads to four light and airy bedrooms. With pleasing views of the gardens, each room has been aesthetically styled with comfort and rest in mind. Three of the bedrooms are en-suite, providing plenty of space and privacy for all members of the family. The fourth double bedroom sits prime in the middle of Drym House overlooking the front garden and entrance. On the second floor, there is also a family bathroom with idyllic views from the statement bath of the rear garden.

Outside

Drym House is set on just under an acre of land and has been kept in impeccable condition behind its private gates; with grassy gardens and plenty of parking for multiple cars. One of the highlights of this area is undoubtedly the wood-fired hot tub, a blissful addition in all seasons. The garden space is split across two levels and is dog secure, a fantastic space for games, a runaround, or just to relax with a bottle of something delicious.

Things we love
Close by to both the north and south coast, Drym is in an ideal position to explore Cornwall, and is equally a fantastic base to spend your Cornish holiday. Surrounded by Cornish countryside and greenery, you can find the local florist ‘Cornish Blooms’ just minutes away on foot, and National Trust’s Godolphin a short drive away. Outside of the hamlet of Drym, you can enjoy an abundance of adventures, such as to the nearest town of Hayle, known for its sandy beaches and fantastic eateries. Back home to Drym House, you can enjoy dinner from the garden or a drink from your wood-fired hot tub. The privacy of the house as well as the beautifully designed and spacious rooms ensure Drym is a desirable property to spend time with family and friends.

Girl's weekend!
What a beautiful, calm and tranquil home for our much needed girl's weekend. The location is so peaceful, 'proper Cornish', but still very close to some of our favourite beaches and spots such as Gwithian, Porthleven and Praa Sands. The home is so spacious, there was only four of us, but can easily fit eight comfortably here. We loved the outdoor space, eco-friendly hot tub and also spent most of our time in the sun room of an evening. The decor is modern and calming and we even watched rabbits in the garden from the dining table. The dogs also loved their stay! Perfect for all seasons! Thank you.
