If it is style and comfort you seek, then look no further than Samphire; a contemporary family-orientated holiday home that right by the golden sands and grass tufted dunes at Holywell Bay. This modern house is new to our portfolio, and brand new to Holywell Bay, and sleeps up to eight guests in comfortable and spacious surroundings. Samphire can be enjoyed by groups large or small, with a generous living area for a large family, but a glamorous ‘penthouse’ ensuite bedroom that is cosy enough for a romantic retreat – take a look at the development as a whole here!
The property itself is set on a private and exclusive gated development, and has two allocated parking bays just outside. Step across the threshold and into the house, where the lounge lies to the left, airy and bright, and the stairs and utility room are to the right. There’s a WC/washroom on the ground floor, with a family bathroom on the first floor. The kitchen/diner flows into the living room, and cool, crisp colours accentuate the tasteful décor. It’s easy to feel relaxed and at home in this fabulous house, and everything you could possibly need are provided to help you get the most out of your holiday.
The modern kitchen is wonderfully equipped, with all you need to cook up a culinary storm, and the south-facing garden is tidy and well looked-after, providing the perfect sun-trap for lounging or to enjoy a sheltered barbecue.
Head upstairs and you will find three out of the four bedrooms on the first floor, all of which are spacious and tasteful, with some attractive local artwork on the walls. Last but by no means least, the main bedroom is located on the top floor; a superking-size bed with plenty of wardrobe space subtly built into the walls, and a good-sized ensuite bathroom with a fabulous waterfall shower. To complete the room of course, a balcony with seating and a table allows you to take in the views across to the sea and the dunes at Holywell Bay. Take in the sights or sit down with a book, the space is there to be enjoyed for whatever you please.
Out and about
Holywell is a small coastal village on the north coast of Cornwall, where the bay very much takes precedent. The beach is a classic north Cornish beach, with a sweep of golden sand and a towering dune system, and was one of the backdrops for Poldark. Holywell Bay is dog-friendly all year round, and offers plenty of footpaths and secret caves to explore if you have a canine companion.
What’s more, the beach is a five minute walk away from Samphire; it’s perfect for families and is lifeguarded daily between early summer and autumn. Learn to surf with Holywell Bay School of Surf or Cornwall Surf Academy, both schools licensed by the National Trust, who also own and look after Holywell Bay.
The nearby beaches of Crantock and Porth Joke are also well worth seeking out; Crantock is also dog-friendly all year, and “Polly” Joke is a small, picturesque beach cove, untouched by commercialism. Further down the coast to the west you will find some other fabulous beaches; Perranporth and Gwithian are lovely large, family friendly stretches of sand, and the vibrant seaside town of Newquay is a mere six miles up the coast.
Things we love
The scenery at Holywell Bay is some of the best anywhere, and certainly ticks all of the boxes; sunsets, golden sands and sweeping dunes. Stroll the water’s edge as the sun sinks over the horizon, beach-comb after a winter’s storm, or enjoy a picnic in the sand dunes — or simply enjoy the environment from the comfort of your penthouse bedroom balcony, chilled pinot in hand.
Samphire offers style, privacy and comfort, and makes the ideal retreat if you are looking to get away from it all; whether you are a large family or a couple seeking a secluded romantic break.
