This stunning five bedroom house dates back to the late 1700’s when the original part was a local fisherman’s cottage. About 100 years later the rest of the house was built giving it a stunning façade and breath-taking sea views on three sides through windows facing south, east and west. Parc Brawse House features beautifully on the Lizard Peninsula and makes a perfect place to escape the real world and enjoy your own slice of Cornish heaven.

Inside Parc Brawse House

You have driven along the spectacular, unspoilt Lizard Peninsula, through the picturesque Cornish villages to just about as far south as you can go — right through the quaint Lizard village itself. The sea glistens on the horizon and the lighthouse stands proud on the Point as you recognise Parc Brawse from the photos and pull into the drive via the private gates.

The front door leads you into a gracious hallway with stripped wooden flooring, gilded mirrors and high ceilings. Off the hallway is a bright, neutrally toned sitting room where you can sit back and unwind as you sink into the comfortable sofa, with a 43” smart TV with Sky and a wood burning stove. Opposite is the library, a great place for private escape, listening to music on the remote speakers or gentle contemplation. The library offers plenty of books, guides and maps and overlooks The Signal Station and Bass Point in the distance, a perfect place to catch up on emails, write your memoirs or simply download the newspapers given the super-fast broadband.

Further along the hallway there is a large kitchen, with a classic Rayburn giving gentle warmth (except in summer), plus a large Rangemaster 110 oven and hob — ideal when catering for larger celebratory gatherings. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped. Downstairs you also have the formal dining room, seating ten and relaxed breakfast room, games room with rattan sofa and table football, ideal for lazy summer afternoons and a well-equipped utility room. There are doors leading from both the sitting room and games room to the sunny terrace, which is perfect for al fresco dining, evening drinks and catching the Cornish sunshine throughout the day.

Parc Brawse House provides five bedrooms across two levels of this gorgeous home. Sleeping arrangements are across both old and ‘new’ parts of the house, which are joined seamlessly from both the kitchen and dining room. Three bedrooms (sleeping six) in one part and two (sleeping four) in the other. Both parts are amply serviced with bathrooms and storage, and the kitchen and dining facilities are easy to access from both sides, making this an ideal property for two families to share.

Here’s how it fits together….

…up the elegant sweeping staircase you’ll find a generous landing leading to bedrooms and bathrooms of the main house. Bedroom One is the principal bedroom, with a super king-sized bed and dual aspect windows with stunning panoramic sea views to the south towards Lizard Point and east over fields of wild rabbits to Pistil Meadow. You have a day sofa here and a central feature fireplace (not in use). Bedroom Two has a king-sized bed and again dual aspect window with views to just catch the sunset over Kynance Cove, Bedroom Three can be made as a twin and has sea views over Tregullas Organic Farm with Jack & Jill en suite bathroom providing a large waterfall shower and claw-footed bath.

Upstairs you also have a very generous main bathroom with large stroll-in shower, free-standing bath, dado rail and half panelling. The further bedrooms are in the original cottage part of the house; Bedroom Four, a king-sized bed with en suite, and Bedroom Five is a twin with an en suite featuring its own large shower. There is also a snug in the old cottage, with 43” smart TV with Sky, perfect for teenagers to choose their favourite channels and a convenient WC/washroom.

Outside Parc Brawse

The beauty doesn’t stop on the inside of this house, the large south facing coastal garden catches the sun all day and is complete with home grown seasonal vegetable patch and herb garden for your own use. The patio allows al fresco dining and a charcoal barbeque, ideal for unwinding after a day spent at the neighbouring world famous Kynance Cove. With just a five-minute stroll you’ll find yourself at The Lizard Lighthouse where you can find out more about the history of the area, enjoy a hot chocolate on the cliffs, spot some seals, watch the fisherman bringing up the lobster posts and of course take in the breath-taking views.

Please note: Parc Brawse has an external weather webcam from the top of the house. This is not voice recording and has a view of the lighthouse.

Things we love …

Lizard Point, Cornwall, Forever Cornwall

With coastal walks and small coves aplenty and right on your doorstep, you won’t ever be short of things to do while staying at Parc Brawse House. We love that you can walk to the village in less than five minutes — here you can find the famous Ann’s pasties (arguably the best in Cornwall), Tregullas Organic Farm Shop and of course The Top House Inn and The Witchball pub (the locals’ pub) with fresh fish daily from Cadgwith Cove. There are also numerous independent stores, historic ice-cream parlours and cafés.

Why not stretch your legs a little further and walk to Kynanace, famed for its turquoise waters, sandy cove and brilliant café? Swim, fish or enjoy a cream tea or get lucky and spot a rare Cornish chough. Or get the adrenaline flowing by going surfing at Kennack Sands or Poldhu, or booking (in advance!) with the brilliant Lizard Adventures — a little rock climbing or coasteering is a great way to work up an appetite!

Back to your boutique holiday home, Parc Brawse where friends and family await… cook up a storm of fresh lobster from the nearby Cadgwith Cove, kick back in the garden, snuggle down for a binge-watch and if you’re very lucky, you may hear the lighthouse sounding on a stormy night! You really could spend a week here and venture no more than a few miles away, in one of the most remote, yet amazingly rich and diverse locations anywhere.

Stunningly situated house
We had a fantastic time at Parc Brawse House. It was an absolutely stunningly situated house right at the tip of the Lizard, with far reaching views and generous accommodation. The house had plenty to keep adults and kids entertained - table football, table tennis, a lovely sheltered garden and there was lots to do in the surrounding area, including walks from the doorstep. The house is tastefully furnished and well equipped with everything you might need.

THE LIZARD

The Lizard village is almost at the very tip of the wild and rugged Lizard Peninsula. Lizard Point, with its lighthouse and old lifeboat station, is mainland Britain’s most southerly point. The village has a host of cafes, shops and a couple of pubs. It is in an excellent location to explore the dramatic coastal path, pretty fishing settlements, the stunning flora and fauna, and famous beaches like Kynance Cove. Whatever you’re looking for, this rural patch of the UK has lots to offer.

Travel times

  • Parc Brawse House is about 20 miles from the nearest mainline station at Redruth. Regular and convenient services run from all over the UK.
  • The Lizard village is approximately 11 miles from Helston on the B3294. Driving time from London is just almost six hours in normal traffic, while Exeter is over two hours away.

Things we love

  • Mainland Britain's most southerly point — a very wild place to be
  • One of the best places to walk the South West Coast Path
  • Astonishing wildlife, seabirds, flora, marine life and geology

  • A fantastic place to stay

What a beautiful house and gardens. 10 of us have had a wonderful week enjoying all that the area has to offer - walks, views, pasties, tribute(!), beaches, seals, sunsets, great food - all topped off with a week of sunshine. A fantastic place to stay - both the house and the Lizard.

  • A very special location

What a wonderful week in a fabulous house, in a very special location. Parc Brawse House has been the perfect place to unwind and have fun - fabulously equipped, beautifully decorated and maintained, warm, comfortable and welcoming - we couldn't have asked for anything better. The cream tea and prosecco on arrival was a lovely touch and the owners couldn't have been more accommodating. We loved Kynance Cove and Lizard Lighthouse was a huge hit with children and adults alike, and access to beautiful coastal walks was wonderful. We hope to return and we've had such a happy time. Thank you!

  • An amazing house

What an amazing house, fabulous facilities and fun had by all, including "the teenagers"! We enjoyed walking along the coastal path - the path to Cadgwith is the most stunning route. Our favourite dog-friendly beaches were Kennack Sands and Gunwalloe - all relatively empty. We have made some fantastic memories here with friends and would love to come back.
