Pednagothollan is a cherished and unique Victorian home stylishly appointed for guests. The lower level of the home hosts an open plan kitchen, dining and relaxed lounge area. Your well-equipped kitchen has wooden worktops, a deep double Belfast sink, a large island, convection oven, induction hob, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, flat-screen television and dishwasher. There is also a wine cooler in the nearby utility room. The dining room with space for ten guests was made for entertaining, which extends onto the sitting area complete with log burner and glass sliding doors, giving you the enjoyment of the coastal views from the comfort of the sofa.
In the living room you’ll have stunning sea views of Kynance Cove, comfortable seating for all and a smart 42” TV, the perfect place to curl up in front of a film with family and friends. Tucked around to the side of the house you’ll find the snug, a calm space where you can escape, kick back with a good book or some music.
Heading upstairs you’ll find three bedrooms; the impressive principal room hosts an emperor-size bed, an ensuite bathroom, sofa and TV, as well as bay windows with views that look out across Kynance Cove. Bedroom 2 is a king room with sea views and Bedroom 3 is a twin. Completing the inside of Pednagothollan is the stylish family bathroom with its decadent sunken bathtub and a walk-in shower.
Out and about
Pednagothollan has an abundance of outside space and seating areas, ideal for hosting all the family together. Accessed through the kitchen/dining room, snug and the front of the house, you have an impressive multi-level decking area with alfresco dining for six, a comfortable rattan corner sofa, deck chairs, sun loungers and a gas barbecue. There is also a lawn, with neat boarders, and a children’s play set with a slide, swings and a climbing frame — great to keep the littler ones in your party busy. Leading on from the well-kept garden are farmers fields and dramatic cliff tops, making Pednagothollan the perfect spot for watching Cornish sunsets.
There is also private parking for two cars. Please note, entry to the drive way is a little tight.
With coastal walks and small coves aplenty and right on your doorstep, you won’t ever be short of things to do. The South West Coast Path is easily accessible from the home, and you can walk to the village in less than five minutes — here you can find the famous Ann’s pasties (arguably the best in Cornwall), Tregullas Organic Farm Shop and of course The Top House Inn and The Witchball pub (the locals’ pub) with fresh fish daily from Cadgwith Cove. There are also numerous independent shops and cafés. Further afield you have a host of picturesque villages, coves and beaches to explore. Do check out Roskilly’s Farm with their famous Ice Cream Parlour.
Things we love
Pednagothollan has everything you need for an idyllic Cornish getaway. While it’s hard to tear yourself away from the home, we suggest you take advantage of the home’s special location. Walk to Kynance Cove, famed for its turquoise waters, sandy cove and brilliant café. Swim, fish or enjoy a cream tea or get lucky and spot a rare Cornish chough. Or you can explore the rest of the Lizard, including the picturesque fishing village of Cadgwith with its amazing thatched pub, or the epic surfing beach at Poldhu where you can learn from the experts.
After a long day’s adventuring, we love that you can easily relax in this Victorian home, thoughtfully styled and improved by its owners. Take advantage of the local seafood and produce, and cook up a meal for the family, flop in the sitting room in front of the TV, or spend hours enjoying the show-stopping views from the decking and garden. Pednagothollan is your place for just a week or two, but it will surely stay with you forever.
