Buying local in Falmouth

The vibrant university town of Falmouth has a plethora of speciality food outlets, delis, bottles shops and bakeries hidden amongst its winding lanes and pretty terraced streets. There are several out of town breweries and a number of farm shops and markets in the surrounding area, like the brilliant Food Barn at Tregew in nearby Flushing, held every Saturday morning.

Running every Thursday and Saturday from March to December, this bi-weekly market sells fresh veg, bakes goods and lots of other local produce.

Right on the high street, Stones started out as a market stall and has become the town’s best loved artisan bakery. All produce is made on site. Cafe too.

Falmouth Fishmongers

Fresh, locally sourced fish and shellfish as well as a large selection of frozen fish available at this friendly streetside fishmongers in the heart of town.

Baker Tom’s

In the middle of town, this bakery is brimming with freshly made bread, cakes and pastries. Handmade sandwiches, pasties and sausage rolls for takeaway.

An emporium of local produce, this independent coffee shop, deli and hamper service sells seasonal food from the best Cornish producers. Stop by for all your picnicking essentials!

An independent grower producing fruit and veg using organic practices on their market garden on the outskirts of town and sold at Falmouth’s Market on the Moor.

Bakery on the Beach

Gylly Beach Café’s own bakery, used to supply the cafe with fresh artisan bread. Cakes and loaves are for sale daily on the cafe counter.
