The Gardens at Enys on the outskirts of Falmouth on the south coast offer a unique tranquil and unspoilt atmosphere. Visitors are offered a peaceful and relaxing experience with a wide variety of different garden vistas, and on 6th July 2018 you are invited to a truly unusual feast night, celebrating the start of the ‘Food Jam weekend’ with some truly wild flavours.
Chefs Matt Vernon and Stuart Woodman — both seasoned wild food experts — will be creating a three course menu that will heavily feature wild foraged ingredients, giving you a chance to explore amazing new wild flavours. Rich Hamblin of More Wine, a Vintners Cup winning wine buyer and sommelier will also be there to tell you more about sustainable wines, and has put together a range of organic/bio dynamic wines to compliment the wild menu.
After being welcomed with a wild drink at arrival you will have time to mingle and enjoy the surroundings before taking your seat for the three course feast. Each dish will be truly seasonal, bringing together ingredients from the hedgerow, shoreline and woodland, creating a unique opportunity to rediscover lost flavours that hark back to ancient times.
Matt and Stuart will give an introductory talk on the wild ingredients, the history and how they can be used in modern recipes at home, encouraging you to reconnect with our forgotten wild larder.
Rich will be talking through the wines selected for each course, giving you a opportunity to sample some unique bio-dynamic/organic wines chosen by himself and the feast night team. His real passion is the supply of low intervention, high quality wine from small vineyards with an unerring focus on sustainability, eco-friendly packaging and transport logistics.
Both the chefs and Rich will also be on hand after to chat with you and answer any questions you may have about the wild food or More Wine.
Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free diets are catered for; available if requested in advance.
The weather will dictate whether the food will be served on the front lawn or inside the rustic Enys house.
Tickets are £35 each (also includes free entry to Food Jam Saturday/Sunday). Wine packages available to purchase in addition to meal ticket. Book now at Enys Gardens website.
