You’ll find Spring Tide in a quiet cul-de-sac on the western side of Newquay. It’s part of an exclusive collection of new luxury residences (completed winter 2020/21) that have been designed and built to the highest architectural standards, and take advantage of the stunning vista west over the sandy Gannel Estuary. You’ll have views towards Pentire and Crantock in the distance, and can watch the tide rise and the sunset from your glazed balconies. This is an ideal location from which to discover the best of Newquay and Cornwall’s iconic north coast.
Inside Spring Tide
From the generous private parking forecourt you step into Spring Tide and are immediately welcomed by a stylish and very contemporary space, that ticks all the boxes for a carefree coastal holiday. This open plan living, dining and kitchen area is the heart of your holiday home and is dominated by west-facing panoramic windows spanning the width of the property. Whether you are lounging, dining or cooking up a storm in the luxury kitchen, the view will be the centre of attention. You have a contemporary L-shaped sofa, an indulgent 65” smart TV for movie nights, and a stylish dining table seating eight in comfort to share meals and memories. The kitchen itself has Miele appliances throughout, including an induction hob featuring a downdraft extraction, integrated fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. You have a wine cooler, Dualit toaster, Krups coffee machine and ample kitchenware and crockery for any occasion. Also on this floor are the welcoming reception lobby, a WC, and a handy utility room with washing machine and tumble drier.
A glazed oak stairwell connects to the upper and lower floors of this three-storey building. Ascending them will take you to the absolutely fabulous principle penthouse bedroom. This room is pure indulgence if you want some exclusive privacy as part of your holiday experience. The bedroom spans the entire width of the property and benefits from large patio doors connecting to a generous private balcony, which takes in the same dramatic views as the living area on the floor below. This is the place to escape for a morning coffee or with a G&T to soak up one of Newquay’s famous sunsets if you are lucky. On high tides (and especially Spring Tides!) this view is particularly magical as the tide flows into the sandy estuary and reflects silver and golden sunlight. Along with the king-sized bed, complete with luxury deep-sprung mattress, you have informal seating, smart TV and dressing table, and of course your en suite bathroom, which has a large walk-in waterfall shower.
Back down the stairs to the ground floor are two further bedrooms. Both open out onto the terraced garden via sliding patio doors. The first is a king-sized room with a luxury zip-and-link bed (this can be set up as two singles if you prefer). Guests here have a view of the Gannel over the garden, and an en suite bathroom with large walk-in waterfall shower. The final large bedroom offers flexible sleeping arrangements — a further zip-and-link bed (which can also be set up for you as two singles) and an imaginative custom-made bunk bed, giving this room a capacity for up to four guests, configurable in a variety of ways. This room connects to the luxury family bathroom with an additional shower and bath.
The garden and beyond
Spring Tide overlooks a tiled terrace, which is sunny from noon through to the evening. Here you have an outdoor sofa for lounging and conversation, as well as an alfresco dining table for eight, a premium gas-fired barbeque grill and a gas fire pit. A great space for entertaining and relaxing after a long day on the beach. Beyond the terrace is the lawned garden, which is fenced all around for security and privacy. The garden is also accessible via steps from the front of the property, and you have access to a lockable garden storage space if you want to keep leisure gear out of the way.
Venturing forth, you have all of Newquay at your disposal. As well as its seven epic beaches, you have eateries ranging from fine dining to imaginative local grab-and-go offerings, and numerous attractions and activities. Within walking distance is Newquay’s pretty boating lake, zoo, water park and newly restored miniature railway. A short drive along the coast takes you to Pentire and stunning Crantock Beach, as well as West Pentire — an exquisite habitat managed by the National Trust, and the coastal path leading on to Polly Joke and Holywell Bay beyond.
