The Pearl is all about the sea views — it’s a spacious and very family friendly contemporary holiday apartment with stunning and uninterrupted views of the Atlantic from most rooms and from its private balcony. It’s a short stroll from Fistral, the UK’s most iconic surfing beach, as well as being located conveniently for Newquay’s other famously safe and sandy beaches — and makes a convenient base for exploring the scenic and dramatic North Cornish coast. Beautifully presented and stylishly decorated to create a care-free beachy atmosphere, The Pearl offers spacious and comfortable family accommodation for four, or a lovely romantic bolt-hole for two.
Inside The Pearl
The Pearl is one of the just eight luxury apartments with full balconies in the exclusive and sought-after gated development of Bredon Court. It has been cleverly designed to make the most of the amazing views, and the wide sweep of the Atlantic can be seen from all rooms except bathrooms. You’ll have private parking right by the front door. Once inside you’ll see that the owners have given careful attention to every detail of the retreat, with beautiful and well-chosen Eames-era style furniture and fittings throughout. The open-plan living and dining area greets you with a décor of airy blues and greys, a comfy corner sofa and a generous 50” TV. The dining area is relaxing and modern and the kitchen beyond is very well equipped — you can close the kitchen off from the living area if you wish, or enjoy glimpsing towards the sea as you mix a crab salad or a G&T!
Both bedrooms share the same stunning sea views as the living area. Both are beautifully decorated with carefully chosen fabrics and wall coverings, and are well appointed with deep sprung mattresses and ample storage and hanging space. The master bedroom benefits from a walk-in dressing room and en-suite shower room and has direct access to the balcony. In the second bedroom the zip and link beds can be made up as two single beds or a super-king-sized bed on request. The family bathroom is spacious, with a shower over the bath.
Out and about
The Pearl at Bredon Court is quietly tucked away and feels very private and uncrowded. Your balcony extends the entire width of the apartment and is large enough for you to lounge in the sun or to dine al fresco. You’ll find it tempting to pass the time lazily watching golfers on one of Cornwall’s finest links courses — but a short stroll across the golf course (you can hop on to the footpath direct from the apartments) will take you straight to Fistral beach. This 750-metre stretch of sand and swell offers a great family beach-life with lifeguards from April to October. It’s also home to all the best of the British surfing scene – the British Surfing Association is based here and the beach co-hosts (along with Watergate Bay) the annual Boardmasters festival. Here too you’ll find great contemporary restaurants from Rick Stein and others. If beaches aren’t your thing you are directly connected to the South West Coastal Path, and can stroll to Pentire, or beyond to Crantock and lesser-known Porth Joke (or Polly Joke) beyond. The harbour and town centre of Newquay are within a 5 to 10 minute walk.
Things we love…
The architectural layout of The Pearl makes the very best of this stunning location on the North Cornish Coast. The amazing views greet you throughout the apartment and you’ll be able to watch the sun setting beyond Pentire Point East in the evening from your own balcony. The Pearl is a cherished holiday home, and great attention has been given to all details of the accommodation. You’ll find delightful surprises and quality fixtures and facilities throughout. The apartment is particularly family friendly, with many items provided in addition to the usual cot and high chair. The accommodation can cater for more than one infant when required. We think The Pearl is hard to beat as a base for exploring the Cornwall’s North Coast — from adrenaline sports at Lusty Glaze beach, dining at Jamie Oliver’s ‘15’ at Watergate Bay, riding the amazing little steam railway at Lappa Valley, the fun of finding out all about farming at Dairyland, exploring the impressive little Newquay Zoo, Blue Reef Aquarium… or scores of other things to do.
