This mostly sandy beach is known as Towan beach and is in central Newquay, is close to the town centre and the harbour and is accessible from both ends.
To the left you can see the harbour entrance and this section is great for rock pooling and exploring the caves.
It is family friendly with life guards operating from Easter to September. Be careful to stay within the red and yellow flags as it is also a popular spot for surfers.
At low tide you’ll be able to walk round the little island on the right of the beach, which has a holiday cottage on it, and see the foot bridge tower above you.
